Its no big surprise Santorum takes the southern state of Louisiana. The bigger story is how bad Newt Gingrich did.
CNS News reports former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania beat former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts by a margin of 22 points in the Republican presidential primary held in Louisiana on Saturday.
With 99 percent of the vote counted, Santorum had 49 percent and Romney had 27 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia placed third with 16 percent and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas placed fourth with 6 percent.

Santorum is finished as a viable candidate after his comment that the country would be better off with Obama than Mitt Romney. It didnt hurt him in Louisiana because its a southern state. But, the math is against him from getting the nomination. He wont evercome it by any means. Even Sen Jim DeMint sees the writing on the wall and basically endorsed Romney.
